WANTED
Anne Coward our Assistant Secretary has decided not to seek re-election at our AGM in November. We are, therefore, in need of a willing volunteer for this position.

A full 'job description' is available. However, the essential requirements are:
1) Ability to take minutes;
2) broadband connection;
3) space for the County 'stand alone' photocopier.

CHANGE OF OFFICERS
We welcome our new Junior Vice President Jean Hewett (Caterham) and our new Zone 2 Secretary Diane Tarran (Purley Bury).  We wish them both well and hope they enjoy helping make Surrey the best County.

UNIFICATION
Our two National Governing Bodies, the English Bowling Association and the English Women's Bowling Association have ceased to exist.  They unified from 1st January 2008 and now form BOWLS ENGLAND with Tony Allcock MBE as Chief Executive.  Bowls England is a company limited by guarantee with all the 35 mens and 35 womens Counties as founder members.  There are eight Directors which include a Chair and Vice Chair and six Directors who will chair the various Committees.  Our own Secretary, Bobbie Pothecary is one of the Directors and will Chair the International Performance Committee. Some Counties have already unified and it remains to be decided when Surrey will follow suit.

SURREY COUNTY TOUR 2008
President Gill Bonnell will be touring to North Devon from 14th September to 21st September 2008 staying at the Park Hotel, Barnstaple. The cost for dinner, bed and breakfast will be approximately £350 for the week. The week will include 4 or 5 games and a boat trip by horse drawn barge on the Tiverton Canal and to Barnstaple Carnival on the final night. All club players are welcome. COUNTY ANNUAL DINNER AND PRIZEGIVING
Will be held on Friday 24th October 2008 at the Leatherhead Leisure Centre Banqueting Suite 6.15pm for 7pm start . All are most welcome - semi-finalists and finalists will be presented with their prizes and trophies. Raffle prizes are always welcome and help to keep the cost to a reasonable amount.

200 CLUB
Shares are £10 each and can be purchased at any time during the year from Jackie Taylor. There are 6 draws each year with half the income paid out in cash prizes and half to county funds.
